After looking at Degas artwork, depicting ballerinas, we drew our own dancers, including a 'background'. Some ideas for a background were: an audience, windows and doors, a curtain, a stage, or a garden. Coffee filters were glued on for skirts. One biy drew a boy dancer with pants, which I thought was pretty clever. Some students added colored tissue paper.
